We think with our brains, with our bodies, within different spaces, and with others.
Throughout the course of our lives, we all have experiences that influence what we believe about ourselves and the world around us.
Sometimes these experiences can create inaccurate beliefs about ourselves and our relationships to the world around us, a nervous system that attempts to cope but doesn’t seem to ever reach a sustainable period of calm, or a combination of both which results in us feeling like we’re in a relentless battle with ourselves that we can’t seem to “win”.
I’ve been there (and where you might be right now). Personally and professionally, I have felt and seen the impacts of well-intentioned, albeit, mismatched interventions, support, advice, strategies, etc., impact the trajectory of mental healthcare for individuals, families, and communities.
I integrate interdisciplinary concepts that aim to understand how we think (not only) with our brains, but how we also (and just as importantly) think with our bodies, within spaces, and with others. Utilizing this interdisciplinary framework, a culturally-sensitive mindset, and evidence-based treatments, we can work towards your goals more efficiently and effectively.
- Richard Feynman
“The world is much more interesting than any one discipline.”
Therapy for You*
*You* = an adult, kid, parent, college student, athlete, career-professional, entrepreneur,…human that has a unique brain and nervous system working together to integrate, regulate, organize, predict, connect, and make sense of your inner and outer world.
Our brain mediates our thoughts, feelings, actions, and connections to others and to the world. Understanding core principles of neuroscience, including neuroplasticity and neurodevelopment, can help us better understand ourselves and others.
We will learn to understand your brain and body’s adaptive nervous system, sensory needs, learning styles, and thought patterns, allowing us to work with your strengths rather than against them.
Together, we can build sustainable, joyful, and adaptive wellness for you, your kids, or your family.
